An early career including engineering (Royal Navy, Ford Motor Company) and sales (Xerox) provides a breadth of experience deepened by 10 years of entrepreneurial activity including investments in retailing, publishing, property development and printing.

The last fifteen years has seen Stephen acting in a ‘change agent’ role. As well as facilitating activity in a general commercial environment, Stephen has experience of facilitating ‘commercial alliances’ and supporting and facilitating activity in public/private/non-profit partnerships and other collaborative arrangements. This work has often included activities of an interim management nature, including coordinating teams and managing budgets.

Stephen has worked with many different organisations across the public and private sectors including The Environment Agency, Atkins Design and Engineering Services, Organon Pharmaceuticals, East Midlands Development Agency, Government Office for East Midlands, Turku School of Economics and Business Administration (UK, Finland, Belgium), Pindar plc, One City Partnership, The Connexions Service, ENABLE, DataArt.
